Skills Festival

Skills Festival was our first ever series of digital events. From April to June we connected young people with employers and volunteers so they could keep on developing their workplace skills and knowledge during COVID-19.

a digital response to challenging times

There’s never been a more challenging time for schools and colleges or young people due to COVID-19. The education gap is widening. And with the cancellation of work experience placements, including our paid internships, young people are unable to develop vital workplace skills and experience.

It’s critical that we find innovative ways to support young people.

We’re proud of the role our network of volunteers and employers have played in helping us to achieve this.

young people
  • 82 insight sessions on industries and job roles
  • 76 CV clinics and workshops
  • 69 skills workshops
  • 66 Mock interviews
  • 29 masterclasses on the skills for career success
  • 17 mental well-being advice and support sessions
Our impact
of students plan to put into practice what they have learnt
of students are now more aware of how their skills can be used
of students said it helped them further their career planning
of students said it increased their understanding of different sectors

We’re continuing to shape our support for young people to ensure that we are best able to provide them with the support they need in the current COVID-19 climate.
