Over the past month, I have been interning at CBRE.
I got to work on many projects. I loved going to all the different buildings, seeing how everything was run.
We got to visit the Aurora building, in which we filmed a podcast.
We went to Silverburn as well, and usually I go there just to shop, but I got to see behind the scenes.
And the good thing is, now whenever I go to buildings, I’m not just like, oh this is a beautiful building. I’m like, oh, so how was this made? What kind of material was this made from? What kind of thoughts have been put into it? So I’m really grateful I got to visit the sites and see how everything was run.
We also got to meet so many new people here. It was really fun talking to everyone. They always say, no two days are the same. Like, you’re not always staying at the office, you’re always out and about. So I really like that part of it.
Since coming here, I’m really interested in surveying. I really like the aspect of getting to meet new people, getting to talk to new people, getting to see my clients and just actively going outside.
My mentor is Aasia, who is a surveyor. Every single time I ask her a question, she answers it with so much detail. I’m really grateful to have had her for this internship, and her giving me this opportunity to be her mentee.
