Andrew Pilsworth, Managing Director, Data Centres and Strategic Partnerships, SEGRO: The biggest achievement of this programme so far? I would say the enthusiasm with which mentors and mentees have attacked this programme.
It’s just been brilliant.
Sian Robertson, Director of Programmes and Partnerships, Career Ready: The partnership between SEGRO and Career Ready is so special, because it enables us to provide a whole host of opportunities for young people that they wouldn’t previously have access to.
Ella, Career Ready student: One of the things that I liked most was the relationship I had with my mentor. I think he’s given me so much experience that I’ll take with me into my career.
Faith, Career Ready student: Personally, I think I’ve benefitted in becoming a little bit more confident in speaking to a crowd of people.
Nicola, Career Ready mentor: The impact for me personally, being a mentor, has been in some of the surprises, finding new ways to motivate young people and finding new ways to connect with young people has been incredibly rewarding.
Charlotte, Career Ready student: During my internship, my mentor was Imogen who works for SEGRO, and she gave me the opportunity to visit lots of different sites, and also connect with lots of different people from the construction industry. It really was a once in a lifetime experience.
Armaandeep, Career Ready student: Even though I was a young intern, I was taken seriously, and that meant a lot to me. I helped develop a system which is now being used by most people in their business.
Ella: I discovered quantity surveying, and I think I’d definitely look into it in the future.
Neil Impiazzi, Partnership Development Director, SEGRO: The programme is delivering fantastic results. We have many, many of our customers and suppliers participate in the programme, but what’s more important is we are inspiring hundreds and thousands of young people about the fantastic careers that our supply chain and our customers are offering.
