Nabiha, Nouri, Alicia and Lucy all completed a paid internship with SEGRO. They share what they learnt from the experience.

Nabiha: Career Ready and SEGRO just have a great reputation. The year above recommended it to us.
Alicia: I’d spoken to students in the year above me who had decided to do the programme, and said that it was the best thing they’d done.
Nouri: I’ve gained some key skills within different departments such as the finance, marketing and legal teams.
Lucy: The biggest surprise to me was how warm and friendly everyone has been, because I was expecting the people working in the office to be very strict and formal.
Alicia: It was really actually quite laid back, pretty comfortable.
Nabiha: One of the skills I feel I’ve improved upon is I would say communication.
Alicia: I would say that my favourite part of this experience would be sitting in on the meetings as I like to see how people come up with solutions and all work together.
Nabiha: It’s interesting to watch them bounce off each other when it comes to ideas, or how to solve something.
Lucy: It’s interested me in a career in marketing, and it’s also increased my confidence in networking with others and talking to other people.
Alicia: The biggest benefit to the programme for me would probably be the mentoring. My mentor helped me write my CV, and gave me improvements to make.
Nouri: He’s helping me with my aspiration to go to the University of Cambridge. He’s set up a meeting with someone who’s been to Oxford University and that’s helped me out a lot.
Lucy: She’s really inspiring. She’s been able to help open my eyes into a variety of potential careers.
Nouri: I would 100% recommend this programme. This opportunity with an internship, I wouldn’t have got it without Career Ready.
