Video transcript:

Rae, Career Ready intern, SEGRO: I would describe the Career Ready programme as being insightful, helpful, and inspiring.

Louise, Career Ready mentor, SEGRO: I’m very proud, very inspired. It’s very much of a two-way street, and I’ve learned a lot. So, development.

Rae: From my internship, I was in the SEGRO London office. Working with Partnership Development, I got to learn a lot about the community investment plans that SEGRO do and with sustainability. It was really fascinating to learn about SEGRO’s sustainability policy.

I would say the Career Ready programme has helped me to grow by giving me a focus, I’d say.

Louise: It’s given me a lot of confidence and listening skills. It’s really important to listen to what your mentees are telling you so that you can really respond in the appropriate way.

Rae: It’s opened up a lot more pathways for me and therefore from that I’ve been given a direct thing I want to go into.

Louise: The advice I’d give to anybody thinking about being a Career Ready mentor is just go ahead, be brave and do it. It’s so fulfilling. You get so much from it and I guarantee you won’t regret it.

Rae: The advice I would give to someone thinking about doing the Career Ready programme is just to say yes to everything. I think if it’s given to you by your mentor, by Career Ready itself, from the emails, from a master class, from your internship, so long as you say yes, you cannot fail.
