We’ve had a mix of group work and listening to people who come in and talk about their own work,” says Ishika. “We learned about asset management, and it was just really cool to learn about how they make sure it operates properly and all the finances are in check.

The people who came to speak to us, they came from different courses at uni. So it shows you can do whatever, at uni, but you can still do this job.”

Video transcript:

I’ve been doing my internship at the Infrastructure Industry Foundation at the M&G office. We’ve had a mix of group work and, like, listening to people who come in and talk about their own work.

We learned about asset management, which was really cool. Justlistening to all the people overseeing windfarms, I’m not sure what they’re called, but where they have solar panels. It was just really cool to learn about and just making sure it operates properly all the finances are in check.

The people who came to speak to us, they came from different courses at uni. So it shows like you can do whatever, at uni, but you can still do this job.

We visited Stagecoach Depot in Stratford. we’ve been to Gatwick, we’ve been to iCON Infrastructure.

We also learned how to use Excel modeling. So let’s say we’re going into finance it’s really handy to learn that now.

When you work in a group and going up to present it together, especially when you get on with the people you’re working with, that’s the best part because it’s funny, but it’s also you learn and you get to be in front of people, which you’re gonna have to do at least once in your life.

I would say just do it. There’s nothing that could go wrong because everything is just meant to help you meeting new people. What’s the worst that could happen? Literally nothing. So yeah.
