Bobbi and Finlay from Fife each completed a four-week internship at Diageo in Leven, where their Career Ready mentors also work. Watch the video to hear about their experience.

During their internship, Bobbi and Finlay created a video of the operation of a bottling line at Diageo’s bottling and packaging plant in Leven. This project will enable colleagues to quickly identify issues in the future.

“Honestly, I’ve learned so many different skills – I couldn’t pinpoint just one,” says Levenmouth Academy student Bobbi. “The fact that you can put this on your CV at the end of it is a great opportunity, and I’d do it all over again.”

Finlay, from St Andrew’s RC High School, adds: “My mentor Ellie has been absolutely amazing. If I’ve had a problem to sort out that I can’t do myself, she’s done everything she can to help.”

It’s a lot better than just having a wee part-time job. Like obviously this is a professional workplace, it’s just been so much better.

Honestly I’ve learned so many different skills, that I’ve adapted on as well, I’ve just learned so much. I cannae pinpoint just one just to say.

I’m definitely more confident, working with other people. Just how to, you know, work in a real-world scenario.

I was in bottling hall three, which I have to say has been my favourite part about the whole thing. Making a video to show how the line works, so if anything goes wrong, you can just check the video and see, pinpoint what part has went wrong and how to fix it.

Ellie’s been absolutely amazing, if I ever had a problem or that, that I need to, you know, try and sort that I can’t do myself, I’ve gone to Ellie and she’s done everything she can to help.

If all goes well, I’m going to apply in January or February when the applications come out to be an operator.

It’s great for your CV, it’s a new experience you know, you probably never get again.

The fact that you can put this on your CV at the end of it is going to be a great opportunity. And I would do it all over again.
