Who are you?

My name is Victoria Rogers and I’m a student at All Hallows Catholic Academy. I completed my internship at RBS.

How did you feel before your internship?

Before my internship I was a bit curious and a little scared about being in a working environment, however I was very eager to work in an industry that it I am interested in studying at university.

The best part of my internship is finding out that working isn’t as scary as it seems!

What was the best part of your internship?

Finding out that working and having a job isnt as scary as it seems! There is always someone there to ask if you’re not sure and you’re not just thrown in at the deep end.

I loved being able to find out new things about banking and business and working with a different range of people as well as furthering my own skills and knowledge.

Why do you think internships are important?

Internships give you a taste of what to expect after you leave school. I believe internships also help shape people and develop their understanding of the working world.

What tips would you give to other students preparing for their internship?

Don’t be scared – you always have someone there to guide you. Ask lots of questions while you are there and be hungry for knowledge.

Career Ready helped me to understand more about the working world and develop the skills that will help me in the future.
