Skill Masterclasses – Approx. 1 hour
Skill Masterclasses
Whether it’s a one-off, once a year or more regular activity, delivering a skills masterclass is an inspiring way to tell your career story, help young people prepare for the world of work, and share information about early career opportunities at your organisation.
About this opportunity
We have a series of masterclasses as part of our programme and you can choose the session best suited to your expertise. Each one takes an hour to deliver, excluding travel and preparation time, and we provide a range of templates to support you. Masterclasses are often held in a local school or college but you can couple your masterclass with a workplace visit and host it in your office instead.
Our masterclass topics are:
- Know yourself: helping students explore self-awareness and personal values
- Effective communication & networking: helping students understand how to communicate effectively and build a network
- Success at interviews: explaining what to do before, during, and after an interview.
- Preparing for your internship: demonstrate how to behave in the workplace and understand what is expected of you.
- Brand you: explain what a personal brand is and why it is important.
How we will support you
You will be provided with a template presentation for each topic, which you can tweak to include your own career story.
You will be invited to volunteer training sessions where you will learn more about your role. Every school has a dedicated school coordinator who is also available to support you, and you will be given a local Regional Manager who can assist with any queries and provide support ahead of a session.

Workplace Visit – Approx. 4 hours
Workplace Visit
Workplace visits are an inspiring way for you to open up the world for young people and to boost their knowledge of different work environments and pathways. It’s often the first time our students have entered a workplace and it’s an experience that can have a deep effect on them. Hearing their reactions to your familiar day-to-day environment can also make you see your own business in a new light.
About this opportunity
Visits include a tour of the workplace for a group of 20-30 students, often followed by a masterclass. In these workshops, you can discuss anything from employability skills (such as CV writing) to the organisational structure of your business or wider subjects such as your early career opportunities.
Visits usually last half a day and you can select how many you do, from a single visit to organising them throughout the year. Workplace visits can be paired with a masterclass to enhance the experience.
How we will support you
You will be supported by your Career Ready Regional Manager who will provide all relevant support and information you need ahead of the workplace visit. A member of the school staff will be in attendance during the visit to support you.
