I still remember the day I began my Career Ready journey. The programme not only opened doors but also laid the foundation for my career.
Today, I’m a Finance Transformation Consultant, having gained my degree in Economics along the way, completed internships across industries and now pursuing further study alongside work. Looking back, I can see just how much Career Ready set me on the right path. Here’s how you can make the most of this incredible programme too!

Each office visit and experience is a chance to discover something new. I quickly realised how important it is to approach every opportunity with a mindset of curiosity. Let each visit spark questions and broaden your perspective, and don’t be afraid to explore industries you hadn’t previously considered. Staying open can lead to insights and connections that may shape your future in ways you didn’t expect!
2. Connect with Mentors and Professionals
The chance to connect with experienced mentors and professionals is one of the biggest perks of Career Ready. Approach these relationships with respect and genuine interest. Ask questions, listen to their journeys, and pay attention to the advice they share. Your mentors and connections can help guide your path and give you insight into what it’s really like in various roles. This may feel daunting, however the Career Ready programme is the perfect space to build those skills in a supportive environment.
3. Show Initiative and Take Ownership of Your Learning
The programme offers a great structure, providing an insight into the working world, offering incredible masterclasses – but making the most of it is up to you. Take initiative by seeking feedback, volunteering for events and work experiences. This will set you apart and show your commitment to growth. Being proactive not only demonstrates your dedication but also helps you develop skills that you can take into further study and work.
