Career Ready are delighted to have been selected as a Signature Partner of CBRE’s Thrive Fund for 2024/25.

This bespoke partnership will enable the delivery and growth of the Career Ready programme, enabling more young people to experience the transformational impact of a mentor and paid internship.

Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa, CEO, Career Ready, said:

“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with CBRE to help young people thrive in school, work, and life. Together, we’ll empower young people with the workplace skills, confidence and support networks they need to kickstart their futures and achieve their potential.”

James Brandon, Director – UK DE&I and Responsible Business, CBRE, said:

“I am proud that CBRE is continuing to partner with Career Ready as a signature partner. Over the last four years we have made strides in engaging more young people to consider careers in real estate and unlock the opportunities at CBRE. Over the years we have seen amazing young people who are changing our perspective of how we recruit our next generation of talent. From how we communicate on social media to setting up new networks focussing on social mobility this partnership is driving real change!”

Career Ready has worked in partnership with CBRE since 2019 to help young people aged 16-18 from under-represented backgrounds kickstart their futures. Through the partnership, over 100 young people have experienced a paid internship at CBRE, and over 50 have received one-to-one mentoring by a volunteer from CBRE.

This has a transformational impact on the skills, confidence, and life outcomes of young people:

  • 98% of young people nationwide transitioned into positive destinations
  • 92% of students rated their workplace skills as strong by the end of the programme, up from 60%
  • 89% of young people feel more confident than they did before the programme
  • Career Ready alumni have a network twice the size of their non-programme peers
