Career Ready is delighted to join the Social Business Trust charity and social enterprise portfolio.

Thousands more young people are set to get help to kick-start their careers, with an investment package valued at £210k to develop Career Ready’s future growth plans. Thomson Reuters are the lead partner for this investment, with support from Refinitiv and EY Parthenon.

Together, Career Ready and SBT will focus on strategic priorities for the charity and accelerating digital growth, enabling them to reach more young people.

In addition to the in-kind strategic project support, SBT appointed Mamta Lal Patel, VP, Finance at Thomson Reuters as the Career Ready Investment Director. The Investment Director is a trusted strategic business advisor to the CEO, providing ongoing support.

Career Ready works with employers and educators across the UK to provide young people from less advantaged backgrounds with mentoring, paid internships, skills masterclasses, workplace visits, and curriculum-based employability activities. In the last academic year, Career Ready supported 69,000 young people in 400 schools and colleges across the UK, thanks to the support of 5,000 volunteers from 1,000 employers.
