Career Ready is delighted to announce the appointment of Tokunbo Ajasa-Oluwa as the charity’s new Chief Executive Officer. He will take over from Anne Spackman OBE on Monday 20 January. Tokunbo joins Career Ready following a successful track record as a CEO and social entrepreneur in the third sector, most recently at the Foyer Federation.
The success Tokunbo has delivered throughout his career, as well as his passion for social mobility, made him the outstanding candidate in a very strong field. Throughout the selection and interview process we were impressed with his research, knowledge and commitment to what Career Ready stands for and the impact we have on young people.

Career Ready is a UK-wide social mobility organisation which helps young people from disadvantaged backgrounds develop the skills, confidence and attitudes needed to enjoy successful and rewarding working lives.
Since 2002, Career Ready has run programmes which connect employers with schools & colleges to provide young people aged 11-18 with mentors, internships, skills masterclasses, and wider careers activities .As of the most recent academic year, Career Ready has a network of 5,000+ volunteers from 700 employers helping to transform the lives of 69,000 young people in 400 schools & colleges.
Career Ready is also one of the key funded partners of the Careers & Enterprise Company, charged with implementing the national careers strategy in England and are cited in that strategy as a ‘provider of high-quality services’ to young people.
