Our mission
From this October, we want to empower the futures of 1000 young people in Scotland.
Young people aged 15-18 who, because of their background, don’t have access to the opportunities or support they need to succeed in work and life.
We know that a mentor, and paid internship, has the power to transform a young person’s life: to develop the confidence, skills, and networks they need to have a great future – one they can’t imagine right now.
As a social mobility charity, we see their talent in abundance and it just needs the chance and opportunities to flourish. That’s why we’re calling on more employers, large and small, to partner with us on the Career Ready programme.
The life-changing impact you can have
By providing a young person in your local community with a mentor and a paid internship you can create a life-affirming tipping point for them.
Evidence shows that it boosts their social mobility, self-confidence, and gives them the support networks they need to thrive in education and employment.

Yes, we ask that each partner organisation provides a paid internship for each mentored young person.
A paid internship, alongside their mentoring relationship, provides a tipping point for young people. It gives them real, practical experience of the world of work, helping to boost their skills, confidence, and help them see what they’re capable of in work and in life.
We work with small and medium sized employers who deliver the Career Ready programme of a mentor with paid internship
Employers find that the young people quickly add value to their business, team, and culture because of the relationship developed with their mentor.
We have a network of hundreds of SMEs who can support and guide you on how to succeed in welcoming young people into your organisation.
