Is a DBS required?

You don’t need to have an active DBS to become a LAB member.

How often does a Local Adivsory Board meet?

It will depend on each LAB but they meet a minimum of three times a year.

Where do meetings take place?

This will vary but the LAB meeting are usually hosted in the school or college.

Do I need specific experience or skills to be a Local Advisory Board member?

We have no expectation of where our volunteers work, we value the input and experience that all volunteers bring and the varied ways they have reached their current employment and chosen career pathway.

We prefer our volunteers to be in current employment as it allows the potential to offer students more opportunities, but we recognise that volunteers can have a significant impact regardless of their current employment status

What support will I be provided?

You will be supported by your school/centre coordinator and your Regional Manager who will provide all relevant training and information you need to be part of a LAB.
