Awards

At Career Ready we are proud to celebrate the achievements of our students, volunteers, partners and schools.

Throughout the year we offer a number of awards that recognise individuals and centres who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the programme. Nominations for the 2017 Career Ready awards open on Monday 5 September 2016 and the deadline for all nominations is Thursday 22 December 2016.

Santander Employability Champion Award

We are very grateful to our strategic partners, Santander, who support our Employability Champion Award - recognising a Coordinator in a school or college who has excelled in the running of their Career Ready programme, going above and beyond the requirements of the role to act as an ambassador for employer engagement.

Six regional winners will receive £250 in John Lewis gift vouchers. The overall UK winner will have one-to-one mentoring for a year by an employee from Santander, and will also be given £5,000 for their centre – to be used in the development of their Career Ready programme.

Sir Winfried Bischoff Student of the Year Award

The Sir Winfried Bischoff Career Ready Student of the Year Award recognises the students who have made the most progress during their Career Ready experience. That does not necessarily mean the best students or those with the highest academic results, but those who have come furthest on their Career Ready journey.

There will be six regional winners and two overall UK winners.

Mentor of the Year Award proudly sponsored by Standard Life

The Mentor of Year Award was piloted for the first time in the London and the South region in 2015 and celebrates the commitment of our business mentors in supporting their students throughout the programme. It is the students who nominate  their own mentors as candidates.

Winners in each region receive a trophy.

She committed her time and her focus to support me, she was never too tired to answer my call or reply to my text. I’m blessed that I had her as my mentor as I know that no one could’ve supported me as well as she did in every aspect of my professional, educational and personal life.
