Winning this award is another source of motivation to achieve my goals

I had dropped out of college. Now I'm going to university. My Career Ready internship contributed enormously to my successful application.

Maria Rendon from Lambeth College, a nominee for Career Ready’s Sir Win Bischoff Award, talks about how her time on the Career Ready programme has helped her develop the skills, confidence and qualities to kick-start a successful future.

Before I joined the Career Ready programme I had little direction of my career or where I wanted to be. I was studying Business at college but I was ambitious to achieve more.

Without Career Ready I don’t think that I would have had the opportunity to recognise my talents and put them into practice.

Career Ready provided me with an internship at the CME Group which really helped me to understand the world of work much better and learn some new skills for the future. I now have a much clearer idea of what my strengths and weaknesses are and how I can improve them.

I feel really proud to have been nominated for this award and it's a great way to mark what has been an amazing time on the Career Ready programme - it's another source of motivation for me to achieve my goals!
